This is a poetic take on my Learning and teaching philosophy as I reflect on the final two months of my Graduate school experience.
To touch on the idea of presence, flow, and learning
A living channel absorbs some of whatever flows through it
No circumstance can take away this glorious gift
We inevitably carry pieces of our experiences within us
No matter what life brings
People, like channels, are shaped by what flows through them,
whether those are relationships, stories, or challenges.
Every narrative matters, becoming part of a larger, evolving culture.
Growth is a continuous, inclusive process where every interaction, insight, and story contributes to a meaningful journey.
Inclusion
A channel welcomes all waters
clear streams, stormy tides, rivers unknown,
never asking what flows belongs.
Each current leaves a trace, a gift
reminding us to embrace difference
is to expand what we hold within.
Storytelling
Every ripple carries a story,
etched in silt and song,
woven into the channel’s path.
The river remembers, even in silence
no tale too small, no voice unseen,
each one becoming part of the stream.
Sustainable Growth
The channel does not hoard what passes through.
It absorbs, nourishes, and grows
knowing that change is a teacher,
and every obstacle bends into the current.
What flows away returns anew,
as we, too, evolve and are shaped by what we carry.
